Employee retention is one of the measures of effective managers. New research shows that despite the economy, 1 in 10 workers have resigned in the UK in 2010. The US isn't doing much better with 7%. The UK economy, according to PricewaterhouseCoopers, could save itself £42bn if it learned to keep its employees.
So how do you do it? Have great relationships with your people. Talk to them regularly about their future. Talk to them frequently about how they are doing. Delegate work to them to help them grow.
